Miguel Gonzalez made his start tonight at Triple-A Norfolk and threw 88 pitches in six innings.
Gonzalez, optioned by the Orioles so he could get some work during the All-Star break, allowed three runs and five hits over six innings. He walked two, struck out one, gave up a home run and threw two wild pitches.
As I’ve written previously, Gonzalez will be recalled and start the June 22 game in Anaheim.

What happens once Jimenez returns? Stay tuned.
Outfielder Dariel Alvarez, making his Triple-A debut tonight, doubled in the seventh inning to score Christian Walker.
Walker, also promoted from Double-A Bowie today, has walked three times.
Mike Yastrzemski, making his Bowie debut tonight, has singled twice, tripled, scored a run and made a diving catch in center field.
Update: Yastrzemski went 4-for-5 with two runs scored. That’s one heck of a debut.
Steve Johnson made his third rehab start tonight with short-season Single-A Aberdeen.
On the disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis, Johnson permitted one run, walked four batters, struck out three and threw a wild pitch over three innings. He didn’t allow a hit.
All four walks came in the first inning.
The Orioles want to get Johnson back to Norfolk and perhaps recall him later this summer to work as a long reliever. Manager Buck Showalter likes optional pieces in his bullpen.
Johnson is out of options next season.
