Oh yeah, right, I have a blog.
They’re shooting off fireworks inside Tropicana Field, so I’m typing as fast as I can before I’m unable to see my laptop through the smoke.
These people know this place has a roof on it, right?
Brian Matusz walked three batters in spring training. He walked the bases loaded in the third inning tonight.
Not a typical performance, but good enough to get the win.

“I can’t remember…Oh yeah, right, I have a blog.

These people know this place has a roof on it, right?
Brian Matusz walked three batters in spring training. He walked the bases loaded in the third inning tonight.
Not a typical performance, but good enough to get the win.
“I can’t remember the last time I walked that many guys,” said Matusz, who issued a career-high five free passes. “I was amped up and I was trying to do too much.”
That’s usually the case when Matusz misses the strike zone. He needs to start getting bored out there.
“I know I say that a lot,” he added. “I was overstriding and it was throwing me off completely.”
Matusz shortened his stride while warming up in the fifth inning, and he struck out the side.
“I made it simple,” he said, “and that’s when I really felt like I got in a good groove.”
Matusz wasn’t campaigning to stay in the game after the fifth, though he made sure to tell pitching coach Rick Kranitz that he felt good. He was up to 97 pitches. That was enough.
I’ve had enough of Florida. It’s been swell, but I need to get back to Baltimore.
I’m grabbing a 6:50 a.m. Southwest flight tomorrow and going directly to Camden Yards after retrieving my car.
Then I’ll try to find my house.
