Chen left to a rousing ovation after throwing 104 pitches, the same reception that greeted Miller as he warmed up. All four infielders stood near the mound and watched him.

In Chen’s last four starts, he’s walked three batters and struck out 21. Is that good?

In his last two starts, he’s held the Mariners to one run and 10 hits over 15 1/3 innings, with two walks and 11 strikeouts. Also good, right?

Chen hadn’t completed six innings in his two previous starts before dominating at Safeco Field.

The Orioles have played six consecutive one-run games. They lead 2-1 tonight as we head to the bottom of the eighth.

Update: Game over. The Orioles defeated the Mariners 2-1 in their seventh consecutive one-run game, which tied the club record set from June 21-29, 1956.

Chen improved to 12-3 and Zach Britton earned his 22nd save.

The Orioles are 61-47 overall and 22-17 in one-run games.
