Gonzalez said he understands why he was optioned and he expects to make only one start with Norfolk.

Down on the farm, Bobby Bundy returned to the mound yesterday in his first appearance since undergoing ligament-reconstructive surgery on his right elbow. He allowed two runs (one earned) in two-thirds of an inning in the Gulf Coast League.

Bundy was rated among the top pitching prospects in the organization before undergoing shoulder and elbow surgeries.
