The Orioles made their roster move today, officially recalling catcher Steve Clevenger from Triple-A Norfolk and optioning last night’s starter, left-hander Wei-Yin Chen, to the Gulf Coast League team.
The Orioles currently list their starters for the Twins series as follows:
Friday – Miguel Gonzalez vs. Trevor May Saturday – Chris Tillman vs. Kyle Gibson Sunday – Wei-Yin Chen vs. Ricky Nolasco Monday – Kevin Gausman vs. Phil Hughes

The GCL team’s season ends by Aug. 31, which makes Chen eligible to return.
Any player who’s optioned can return before the 10-day minimum period, and that player can be included on the playoff roster.
Chen is the ultimate paper move.
The Orioles are 32-19 against the American League East. Their .627 winning percentage would be the highest since they posted a .628 mark (49-29) in 1980, according to STATS.
The Orioles are 17-5 at home since June 30, outscoring opponents 109-64 in that span after going 19-21 in their first 40 games at Camden Yards. They’re 7-1 in Baltimore since Aug. 3.
