The Orioles will carry 11 pitchers in the American League Division Series that begins later today at Camden Yards, and left-handed relievers Brian Matusz and T.J. McFarland aren’t included.
Ubaldo Jimenez has made the final cut and apparently will work out of the bullpen.
Anyone surprised by these developments?

I wrote this morning that manager Buck Showalter was likely to reduce the number of left-handers due to the Tigers being predominately a right-handed team. Closer Zach Britton and set-up man Andrew Miller are the only southpaws in the bullpen.
The Tigers lead the majors with a .285 average against left-handers.
Jimenez was chosen despite going 6-9 with a 4.81 ERA in 25 games (22 starts) and losing his place in the rotation before making two starts in September. He tossed seven scoreless innings and struck out seven in a May 13 start against the Tigers.
Jimenez struck out three batters in a scoreless inning in relief Sunday in Toronto, which should have provided a hint that Showalter was going to retain him for the Division Series.
Jimenez made five postseason starts with the Rockies, so he brings experience in October.
Showalter is keeping infielders Jimmy Paredes and Kelly Johnson on the Division Series roster. He chose David Lough over Quintin Berry as an extra outfielder.
Berry is 30-for-30 in stolen base attempts in his major league career, but Lough batted .333 in August and .357 in September.
Chris Davis could be added to the American League Championship Series roster if the Orioles advance and are willing to leave open a spot. Executive vice president Dan Duquette said it’s a “possibility.”
