Manager Buck Showalter indicated yesterday that Miguel Gonzalez would start the contest while Norris would be in the bullpen and was likely to start Game 4 on Monday, if needed.
Gonalez said he was told Friday that he would start Game 4 if the O’s don’t clinch with Norris starting Game 3.
Norris and Showalter will meet with reporters this afternoon at the club’s workout.
Norris went 15-8 with a 3.65 ERA in 28 starts this season and has never pitched in the postseason. Gonzalez went 10-9 with a 3.23 ERA in 27 appearances (26 starts) during the regular season. He allowed one run in seven innings in his only career playoff start, in the 2012 ALDS against the Yankees.
The Orioles have also announced two ticket options for the AL Championship Series. Tickets will be available exclusively online. Fans are encouraged to visit www.orioles.com/postseason for a postseason seating chart, schedule and additional ticket information. Both options are for fans to purchase only ALCS tickets (ALDS tickets are sold out and a limited number of World Series tickets will be made available for sale at a later date).
Option 1: Fans will receive access to an exclusive presale by placing a minimum $250 per seat deposit on a 2015 full or partial season ticket plan, including the popular and convenient 13-game plan. Fans who place a deposit by noon on Monday, Oct. 6 will have a chance to buy ALCS tickets, and possibly tickets for other future postseason games, via an exclusive online-only presale on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 10 a.m.
Option 2: A public sale for ALCS tickets will take place on Thursday, Oct. 9 at noon exclusively online at www.orioles.com/postseason. Ticket availability is expected to be extremely limited, and tickets – which will be primarily scattered single seats, limited view seating, and standing room only – will sell out quickly. A maximum of four tickets per ALCS game may be purchased.
