Tonight’s attendance: 9,129. That’s the smallest crowd in the history of Camden Yards.
Just when it appeared that Garrett Atkins would come up with a big hit in the seventh, Carl Crawford raced into left-center field and made a sensational diving catch.

Luke Scott retreated to first base. Atkins retreated to the dugout.
Manager Dave Trembley fought the temptation to retreat to his office and punch a wall. Or pour a stiff drink.
Ty Wigginton came off the bench and blooped a two-out single into right field, but pinch-hitter Nolan Reimold never had a chance to produce with a runner in scoring position. Scott broke for third and Wigginton broke for second on a pitch in the dirt, but the ball didn’t roll far enough and Wigginton was tagged out in a rundown to end the inning.
Wall or stiff drink?
Does it have to be one or the other?
