SARASOTA, Fla. – The Orioles haven’t posted their lineup and the bus left for Fort Myers a while ago. Guess we’re in a holding pattern.
Many of the regulars are staying back, of course. Adam Jones sat at his locker this morning, amusing reporters with various quips. Chris Davis and Manny Machado also are in the clubhouse.
David Lough made the trip and said he’s starting today. Manager Buck Showalter held him out of the lineup for a few days because of a sore left hamstring.

SARASOTA, Fla. – The Orioles haven’t posted their lineup and the bus left for Fort Myers a while ago. Guess we’re in a holding pattern.

David Lough made the trip and said he’s starting today. Manager Buck Showalter held him out of the lineup for a few days because of a sore left hamstring.
“I’m fine,” said Lough, who’s 4-for-21 this spring. “I just had soreness in my hamstring and he gave me a few days. I played a lot of innings lately and was always on the road, so he gave me a few days just to rest and get it better and it’s fine now.
“It was just sore. That’s all. It wasn’t a strain or anything. It just needed a little bit of rest. We just didn’t want it to progress into something like a strain or a pulled hamstring that’s a major setback, so he just gave me a few days and it’s better now.”
For the Red Sox
Mookie Betts CF
Dustin Pedroia 2B
Pablo Sandoval 3B
Hanley Ramirez LF
Mike Napoli 1B
Shane Victorino RF
Xander Bogaerts SS
Ryan Hanigan C
Christian Vazquez DH
Justin Masterson RHP
The Red Sox optioned left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez, obtained from the Orioles last summer for lefty Andrew Miller, to Triple-A Pawtucket.
Rodriguez allowed one run and five hits in 7 2/3 innings, with no walks and nine strikeouts.
Note: Left-handers Wesley Wright and Tim Berry are listed in the bullpen today behind starter Brian Matusz.
The Orioles still haven’t announced a starter for Sunday, though it’s Bud Norris’ turn. The Cardinals’ starter also is TBA.
You already know that Miguel Gonzalez is starting Saturday against the Twins, who are sending left-hander Tommy Milone to the mound.
