Price was drafted by the Orioles in round seven in 2012 out of the University of South Carolina, where he played on two national championship teams. He was taken three rounds after the O’s drafted his college teammate, first baseman Christian Walker.

Over two seasons on the O’s farm, Price went 6-7 with a 5.06 ERA in 62 games. He allowed 92 hits over 74 2/3 innings. At Single-A Frederick last season, he went 3-4 with a 6.43 ERA. In 28 innings, he allowed 39 hits with 16 walks and 35 strikeouts.

The 25-year-old Luce was signed in January as a minor league free agent. He played independent league ball last year, batting .313/.372/.453 in two different leagues.

Chavez was signed as a minor league free agent by the Orioles on Feb. 1, 2013. The 28-year-old Chavez was a starter at catcher in the 2013 Carolina League All-Star Game.

Orginally drafted in the 19th round by Kansas City in 2005, Chavez played at Frederick and Double-A Bowie last summer. He hit .302 with six homers and 17 RBIs in 37 games for the Keys. With the Baysox, he batted .167 with no homers and one RBI in 14 games.
