The Orioles are deciding whether to place infielder Ryan Flaherty on the 15-day disabled list. Team orthopedist Dr. Michael Jacobs is reviewing the MRI.
Infielder Rey Navarro is in Baltimore, and the sense is that the Orioles will make a roster move later today. They can’t afford to be short an infielder with a bench that’s heavy in outfielders.
Update: The move is official. Flaherty goes on the DL with a right groin strain and Navarro is recalled from Triple-A Norfolk.

Kevin Gausman will stay with the Orioles after learning today that his MRI came back clean. He hopes to start throwing by the weekend and eventually will join Triple-A Norfolk’s rotation.
Manager Buck Showalter is hoping that catcher Matt Wieters will be ready to come off the 60-day disabled list when eligible on June 4. Teams can’t backdate a 60-day assignment, so forget the return date that was first reported.
Wieters caught nine innings today at extended spring training instead of eight. He’s scheduled to catch nine again on Thursday and Saturday.
Showalter envisions Wieters sharing time behind the plate once he’s activated. He could catch every other day.
Reliever Wesley Wright threw a 30-pitch bullpen session today in Sarasota and it went well, according to Showalter.
The Orioles are tied for the major league lead in outfield assists with 10. Delmon Young leads the club with four. Adam Jones has four, Alejandro De Aza two and Travis Snider one.
In 19 games since being activated from the disabled list, Jimmy Paredes is batting .363 (29-for-80) with six doubles, two triples, five home runs, 15 RBIs and 16 runs scored. Paredes has at least one hit in 17 of 19 games, and 13 of his 29 hits have gone for extra bases.
Since April 18, Paredes’ 13 extra-base hits are tied for second in the majors behind Freddie Freeman (14) and Eric Hosmer (14).
