Lavarnway batted .107/.219/.143 (3-for-28) with a double and a run scored over 10 games with the Orioles this season. The Orioles selected him off waivers from the Cubs on Dec. 23.

The Orioles wanted Clevenger, a Baltimore native, to focus on his work behind the plate, and he’s thrown out 12 of 37 runners attempting to steal with Norfolk.
