Sammy Sosa says “cosmetic cream” is the reason his skin tone is lighter.
That doesn’t happen on the clear days.
Now that the Gold Glove winners in the American League have been announced and dissected, I find it amusing that so many people are ripping the voting process because they deem Adam Jones as being undeserving.

Are these the same folks who railed about the Orioles’ first-year players having no shot at Rookie of the Year because they’re stuck on a last-place team that doesn’t garner any respect, and there’s a New York/Boston bias, and the whole world is against them?
Rather than over-analyze Jones’ selection, I’ll just enjoy the fact that an Oriole was honored. Good for him, and good for the team. It’s nice to get a little recognition.
FOXSports.com reports that the Tigers are willing to trade pitcher Edwin Jackson while seeking payroll relief.
Should the Orioles look into it?
I have mixed feeling about Jackson. He was an All-Star this season, going 13-9 with a 3.62 ERA and 161 strikeouts in 214 innings. But he also posted a 5.07 ERA in the second half. He’s 38-39 in seven seasons, though 27-20 in the last two.
He would be a nice addition to the rotation, depending on what the Tigers want in return, but is he the veteran No. 1 starter that the Orioles desire?

Twenty former major league managers, umpires and executives, including former Orioles skipper Davey Johnson, will be considered for election to the Hall of Fame by two veterans committees.
The results will be announced Dec. 7 at the winter meetings.
Besides Johnson, the other eligible managers are Charlie Grimm, Whitey Herzog, Tom Kelly, Billy Martin, Gene Mauch, Danny Murtaugh and Steve O’Neill.
The umpires are Doug Harvey and Hank O’Day.
The 10 executives eligible for election are Gene Autry, Sam Breadon, John Fetzer, Bob Howsam, Ewing Kauffman, John McHale, Marvin Miller, Gabe Paul, Jacob Ruppert and Bill White.
