Center fielder Adam Jones won’t be placed on the disabled list today unless the Orioles have a sudden change in plans. He isn’t expected to be the corresponding roster move for left-hander Wei-Yin Chen.
The move remains a mystery.

Center fielder Adam Jones won’t be placed on the disabled list today unless the Orioles have a sudden change in plans. He isn’t expected to be the corresponding roster move for left-hander Wei-Yin Chen.
The move remains a mystery.
Jones threw today for the first time since the Orioles were in Toronto, and they will place him on the 15-day disabled list on Saturday if he shows up with a sore shoulder.
Jonathan Schoop worked out at Camden Yards and will play second base tonight at Double-A Bowie. He won’t be activated from the disabled list before Monday unless Jones goes on the disabled list.
Kevin Gausman was scratched from tonight’s start with Triple-A Norfolk in case Saturday’s game at Camden Yards is postponed due to rain. Gausman would serve as the 26th man for Sunday’s doubleheader.
Tyler Wilson wasn’t a consideration because he would be working on short rest.
Orioles minor league right-hander Dennis Torres has received a 50-game suspension without pay after a second positive test for a drug of abuse in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
The suspension of Torres, who is currently on Bowie’s roster, is effective immediately.
The grounds crew is preparing to put the tarp on the field as rain continues to fall at Camden Yards. The Orioles’ batting practice session has been interrupted.
