The Orioles still haven’t announced their roster move for tonight’s series opener in Minnesota. Outfielder Nolan Reimold is on paternity leave until Thursday and infielder Ryan Flaherty is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Norfolk.
Assuming that’s the move, Flaherty is expected to remain with the Orioles after Reimold returns to the club. He isn’t required to spend 10 days in the minors.
Add it to the rest of baseball’s confusing rules.

Flaherty is batting .248/.328/.386 with six doubles, three triples, three home runs and 20 RBIs in 51 games. He had two major league triples heading into the 2015 season.
Flaherty has played 46 games at second base and seven at shortstop this year. He’s also played one inning at third base.
Jonathan Schoop remains at second base for tonight’s series opener against the Twins at Target Field. David Lough is in left field and Chris Davis stays in right.
The Orioles batted .192 (19-for-99) while losing two of three games to the White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field. The pitching staff allowed five earned runs in 25 innings.
Over his last five outings, left-hander Wei-Yin Chen has gone 3-0 with a 2.16 ERA and four quality starts over 33 1/3 innings. The Orioles are 5-0 in those games.
Chen Is 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA in five road starts this season.
Chen has surrendered 15 home runs this season, including 12 solo shots. Ten of the home runs have come within the first three innings and the other five have come in the fourth inning.
