With minutes to go before the 4 p.m. non-waiver trade deadline, Tommy Hunter found out he was headed to the north side of Chicago.
The Orioles have reached an agreement with the Cubs, sending the right-hander to Chicago and bringing outfielder Junior Lake, 25, to the Orioles organization. He’ll report to Triple-A Norfolk.
Hunter, along with Chris Davis, came to the Orioles in 2011 in a trade for reliever Koji Uehara. On the season, Hunter is 2-2 with a 3.63 ERA over 39 games.
