The Orioles were held to one run today, the offense reverting to its previous form after totaling 17 runs over the last two games. However, they also had another abbreviated start from their rotation, a shortcoming that can’t be ignored.
Mike Wright lasted four innings in a 5-1 loss to the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre. He threw 80 pitches on three days’ rest.

An Orioles starter hasn’t completed seven innings since Kevin Gausman on Aug. 23 against the Twins in a 4-3, 12-inning loss at Camden Yards. A starter hasn’t completed six innings in the last seven games.
Here’s the rundown since Gausman worked seven innigs against the Twins:
Ubaldo Jimenez – 5 2/3 innings
Miguel Gonzalez – 4 1/3 innings
Wei-Yin Chen – 6 2/3 innings
Chris Tillman – six innings
Gausman – 6 2/3 innings
Jimenez – 5 2/3 innings
Gonzalez – 5 1/3 innings
Chen – 4 2/3 innings
Tillman – 4 2/3 innings
Gausman – 2 1/3 innings
Jimenez – 5 2/3 innings
Wright – four innings
Tillman is on the mound Sunday afternoon against right-hander Marco Estrada. He’s 0-3 with a 15.00 ERA in four starts against the Blue Jays this season, failing to exceed 4 1/3 innings in three outings.
Reliever Jorge Rondon tossed two perfect innings today. He’s been a nice surprise since the Orioles selected him off waivers from the Rockies on May 10, allowing one run in 9 1/3 innings over four appearances. He surrendered 11 runs (10 earned) and eight hits with three walks in one inning over two appearances with the Rockies.
The Orioles placed outfielder Nolan Reimold on their taxi squad today. Outfielder Johnny Ruettiger moved up from Double-A Bowie to Triple-A Norfolk.
