Orioles second baseman Jonathan Schoop missed nearly three months last year with a sprained right knee, which sent him to the disabled list on April 18. Then he missed the last few games with a bruised right hand after getting hit by a pitch.
In between, he played pretty well, and Schoop today pronounced himself healthy for the 2016 season.

“Everything is perfect. Trying to work to get stronger,” he said.
He is also working to get better after hitting .279 with 15 homers, 39 RBIs and a .788 OPS in 86 games.
“I’ve been focusing on everything,” Schoop said. “Trying to be a better player. You have to work on everything, not specifically one thing, to be better.”
Schoop said he has followed the team’s offseason transactions, but didn’t want to comment much on the situation with Chris Davis.
“They’re trying to put a good team together for us to be competitive and get in the playoffs again,” Schoop said. “I didn’t look too much into it (with Davis). I don’t think it’s my business to look into it. I just have to focus on me and let them do their business.”
Schoop was asked if he feels he can have a year in 2016 like his good friend, Manny Machado, had in 2015.
“Manny is an awesome player. Me and him are close,” Schoop said. “He says, ‘II he can do it, I can do it, too.’ We motivate each other and try to make each other better every day.”
