After one scoreless inning here today at Bowie and a total of just 13 pitches, Koji Uehara said he feels ready to return to the Orioles.
Koji said he has not been told by the team when he will be activated off the DL, but when asked if he is ready to pitch again in the Majors, through his interpreter, Jiwon Bang, Koji simply said “yes.”

Koji said he has not been told by the team when he will be activated off the DL, but when asked if he is ready to pitch again in the Majors, through his interpreter, Jiwon Bang, Koji simply said “yes.”
“I could have thrown more,” Koji said. “It’s not for me to decide (when I will be activated).
“I’m not that interested in the results, I just want to make sure my hammy feels good. Physically there is no problem but it’s mental.”
When asked what that meant, he said “yes” that he needs to get over the mental hurdle of being worried about the hamstring.
“If I think too much, then I will injure other places. I don’t want to do that.”
Koji, who has been on the DL with a left hamstring strain since March 26, threw 15 pitches here Tuesday in a scoreless inning.
When asked how different pitching in the minors is from being with the Orioles, he laughed and said “one thing I can say, it is different from the Major Leagues.”
So that is two scoreless innings for Koji in the Eastern League and now he awaits word from the club as to whether he will next pitch again in the minors or rejoin the Orioles.
