Kevin Millwood has faced one batter today and he’s trailing, 1-0.
Clete Thomas just took him deep on a 2-2 pitch, the ball clearing the fence in right field.
Thomas likes hitting against the Orioles, if you’ll recall.
Felix Pie led off the top of the first inning with a scorching liner that Thomas ran down in right-center field. I thought the ball was going to clear his head for another triple.
Justin Verlander retired Robert Andino on a pop up and Nolan Reimold on a fly ball.

Nobody is injured at the moment.
Update: This one got ugly in a hurry. Millwood allowed six runs and seven hits, and also committed a balk, and left the game with two outs. The Tigers sent 11 batters to the plate. Millwood threw 30 pitches, 17 for strikes.
Thomas had two hits and two RBIs in the inning, including a run-scoring single that knocked Millwood from the game. Matt Albers is now pitching.
Ty Wigginton made a nice backhanded stab of Miguel Cabrera’s sharp grounder along the line, but his throw to first skipped past Brandon Snyder.
