CLEARWATER, Fla. – Pedro Alvarez is taking his physical this morning at the Ed Smith Stadium complex while the Orioles are in Clearwater to play the Phillies.
As I’ve written, the club is home on Thursday and could set up a press conference if the results come back and there are no issues. Otherwise, they’re in Tampa on Friday to play the Yankees and home on Saturday to play the Twins.

Catcher Jack Graham, son of Orioles director of player development Brian Graham, is on today’s trip. The Orioles also brought pitchers Vance Worley, Zach Britton, Jason Garcia, Parker Bridwell, Ashur Tolliver, Joe Gunkel, David Hess and Mitch Horacek; infielders Steve Tolleson, Christian Walker, Trey Mancini, Adrian Marin and Corban Joseph; and outfielders Dariel Alvarez, Joey Rickard, L.J. Hoes and Alfredo Marte.
Chris Tillman and Kevin Gausman remain scheduled to pitch in Thursday’s B game against the Pirates at 10 a.m. on the Camden Yards replica field. Tyler Wilson opposes the Yankees’ Bryan Mitchell in the 1:05 p.m. Grapefruit League game at Ed Smith Stadium.
Mike Wright starts Friday in Tampa, with the Yankees sending Masahiro Tanaka to the mound.
Ubaldo Jimenez starts Saturday against the Twins in Sarasota. Phil Hughes starts for Minnesota.
Jimenez remains the only Orioles pitcher to complete three innings this spring. Yovani Gallardo, making his Orioles debut today, likely will be restricted to two innings with his pitch limit around 40.
