The Orioles made a minor league trade tonight minutes before playing to a 4-4 tie with the Braves at Ed Smith Stadium.
Left-hander Chris Jones was sent to the Angels for outfielder Natanael Delgado and infielder Erick Salcedo. Jones was designated for assignment to clear a 40-man roster spot for left-hander Zach Phillips.
Delgado, 20, is a .261/.297/.394 hitter in three minor league seasons. He played at low Single-A Burlington last summer and batted .241/.276/.355 with 19 doubles, five triples, six home runs and 46 RBIs.
Salcedo, 22, played at four levels last season. He’s a career .242/.317/.286 hitter with no home runs.
Salcedo also can play the outfield.
