The Orioles today announced that they have reinstated right-hander Kevin Gausman from the 15-day disabled list and optioned infielder Ryan Flaherty to Triple-A Norfolk.
Gausman, 25, was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 3 (retroactive to March 25) with a right shoulder strain. He made three rehab starts with high Single-A Frederick, Double-A Bowie and Triple-A Norfolk, striking out 19 over 11 innings. Gausman, 25, was placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 3 (retroactive to March 25) with a right shoulder strain. He made three rehab starts with high Single-A Frederick, Double-A Bowie and Triple-A Norfolk, striking out 19 over 11 innings. In his final rehab appearance on April 20 with the Tides, Gausman struck out nine over 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs on four hits. In 65 career major league games (42 starts), he has gone 14-19 with a 4.21 ERA (128 ER/273.1 IP) and 240 strikeouts.
Flaherty, 29, batted .200/.273/.200 (2-for-10) in four games with the Orioles this season.
