The Orioles lost another player today as they wind down their four-game series against the White Sox.
Shortstop J.J .Hardy was removed after the bottom of the fifth inning. The Orioles explained that he fouled a ball off his left foot in his last at-bat.

Closer Zach Britton sprained his left ankle last night while running down a bunt from Adam Eaton, and the Orioles say he’s day-to-day after X-rays came back negative.

Ubaldo Jimenez was off today, allowing six runs and seven hits in 4 2/3 innings. He walked four batters, hit two and threw a wild pitch.
Nolan Reimold singled off reliever Jake Petricka to score Chris Davis with one out in the sixth and reduce the lead to 6-1.
The Orioles worked Sale for 112 pitches in 5 1/3 innings, but they’ve stranded seven runners.
Update: The Orioles had to settle for a split of their four-game series with today’s 7-1 loss to the White Sox.
Brian Matusz loaded the bases with no outs in the ninth and Dioner Navarro lifted a sacrifice fly to left field.

The Orioles are 14-10 overall and 9-3 at home.
