Matusz has turned in three consecutive quality starts and leads AL rookies in strikeouts (29), is tied for the lead in starts (five), is second in innings pitched (needs four tonight to move into the lead) and is third in wins (two).

Orioles starters have made 11 quality starts in 26 games. Last year, they didn’t make their 12th quality start until the 49th game of the year (May 29).

MLB announced today that the Orioles will have the third overall pick, after the Nationals and Pirates, in the amateur draft that begins June 7. I didn’t know that was unofficial until today.
