Zach Britton is eight saves shy of becoming the fifth pitcher in club history with 100 as an Oriole, joining Gregg Olson (160), Jim Johnson (122), Tippy Martinez (105) and Stu Miller (100).

Major League Baseball made a scoring change in Monday’s game against the Royals. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Reimold hit a ground ball to third base that originally was ruled a single. The play has been changed to a throwing error on third baseman Whit Merrifield.

The change makes the third run scored in the inning unearned. Reimold is 0-for-3 with
a run scored in the game.

Here’s the Baseball America scouting report on Orioles’ fifth round pick Alexis Torres, a shortstop from Caguas, Puerto Rico:

“After Delvin Perez, Torres was considered the best defensive infielder in Puerto Rico this year. He has good hands and an above-average arm, giving him the tools to make all the necessary plays. He has good infield actions and enough range for the middle infield thanks to his average speed. A righthhanded hitter, Torres has a contact-oriented approach at the plate, though will occasionally show some pop. His bat gives him more of a utility infielder profile, but as he physically matures, his offensive profile should further improve. Torres earns praise for his makeup and feel for the game. He is committed to Broward County (Fla.) JC.”

In the sixth round: The Orioles took right-hander Tobias Myers from Winter Haven High School. Here’s the Baseball America scouting report:

“Myers had some early buzz this spring after he touched 93 mph with his fastball, but has more typically pitched around 90 mph. He combines his fastball with a solid curveball and a seldom-used changeup. Myers is a good athlete and has a loose, easy delivery that he repeats well. He earns praise for his pitchability. Listed at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, there is some projection to him, particularly because has been a two-way player in high school. Myers is committed to South Florida.”
