Some notes, stats and facts to ponder while we await the start of a long day of Orioles baseball.
The Orioles are 6-5 since their 2-16 start. In those 11 games, the team average is .258 and they have scored 44 runs. The team ERA is 4.18 during that run.
O’s runs scored on the year:
*78 in 21 games vs. AL East, 3.7 per game.
*21 in 8 games vs. everyone else, 2.6 per game.
They are scoring less right now in a small sample, outside of the division. That is skewed somewhat by their 36 runs…Some notes, stats and facts to ponder while we await the start of a long day of Orioles baseball.

Atkins: Is 7 for 14 during four-game batting streak, raising average from .224 to .272. Does not have an RBI in his last 11 games.
Hughes: Is 4 for 22 since 5 for 13 start. Has one RBI his last seven games. The O’s are 6-3 in his nine starts.
Izturis: Is 0 for 16 his last five games.
Jones: Is 0 for 12 his past three games. Is just two for 27 on the year vs. left-handed pitching.
Lugo: Has four hits his last eight at bats.
Markakis: Is hitting .440 (11 for 25) during a seven-game batting streak. Batting .400 (22 for 55) over his last 14 games.
Montanez: Is 0 for 18 since April 23.
Reimold: Is 3 for 19 over his last six games. Is just two for 19 with runners in scoring position.
Scott: Has just one hit in 19 at bats and 10 strikeouts over his last six games and just one RBI his last eight games.
Tejada: Is batting .462 (12 for 26) during a seven-game batting streak. Season average is at its highest point at .320 and that is 15th best in the AL.
Wieters: Has six hits his last 33 at bats, but has three homers and six RBI over his last seven games.
Wigginton: Has homered in back-to-back games and has four homers his last six games.
O’s with runners in scoring position: Since going 10 for 23 during the Boston series, they are 0 for 18 with RISP over their last four games.
Teams with the fewest sac bunts in the Majors:
2 – Orioles & Toronto
3 – LA Angels
5 – Tampa, Seattle, Detroit and Arizona
Fewest pitches per plate appearance in the Majors:
3.68 – San Francisco
3.72 – Toronto
3.73 – Houston & KC
3.75 – Orioles & Texas
The Orioles have scored just nine runs in four games on this road trip with a team ERA of 3.27 on the trip.
