The Orioles today announced that they have recalled right-hander Oliver Drake from Triple-A Norfolk and outrighted infielder Paul Janish to Triple-A Norfolk.
Drake, 29, pitched to a 2.02 ERA (6 ER/26.2 IP) with 10 saves over 27 games with Triple-A Norfolk this season. He did not surrender an earned run over his last 14 games with the Tides (14.0 IP), totaling 25 strikeouts in that span and was named the International League Pitcher of the Week on June 20. Drake, 29, pitched to a 2.02 ERA (6 ER/26.2 IP) with 10 saves over 27 games with Triple-A Norfolk this season. He did not surrender an earned run over his last 14 games with the Tides (14.0 IP), totaling 25 strikeouts in that span and was named the International League Pitcher of the Week on June 20. Drake has posted a 2.87 ERA (5 ER/15.2 IP) in 13 career major league games. He made his major league debut on May 23, 2015 at Miami.
Janish, 33, hit .194/.286/.226 (6-for-31) with a double and three runs scored in 14 games with the Orioles this season.
