Orioles manager Buck Showalter said the club could make “a move or so” following today’s series finale against the Rays.

One of the corresponding moves could come Tuesday when Vance Worley is eligible to come off the disabled list. Also, left-hander T.J. McFarland is eligible to be called up on Tuesday because the minimum 10 days will pass since the Orioles optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk. His appearance yesterday as the 26th man didn’t restart the clock.

Relievers Ashur Tolliver and Mychal Givens will be going on paternity leave. Tolliver’s wife is due on July 7 and Givens’ wife on July 11. Showalter said he was leery of taking players to the West Coast who may need to rush home.

The Orioles won’t have to play short-handed in their absence. The rules are different for suspensions.

Worley said he felt great during and after last night’s relief appearance at Double-A Bowie, where he allowed a run in 1 2/3 innings. He’s been on the disabled list with a strained right groin muscle.

Showalter consulted with Baysox pitching coach Alan Mills and special assignment pitching instructor Ramon Martinez, who were in Bowie last night. Executive vice president Dan Duquette checked with special assistant Lee Thomas.

Darren O’Day, on the disabled list with a strained right hamstring, felt good after throwing a bullpen session between games of yesterday’s doubleheader and he could be activated on the road trip that runs through July 6, with stops in San Diego, Seattle and Los Angeles.

Showalter said O’Day had “one little thing” during yesterday’s session, but otherwise made it through without any issues.

“Other than that, it went well,” Showalter said.

O’Day will throw another bullpen session and pitch in two simulated games on the trip. He also will perform fielding drills to convince the Orioles that he’s ready.

Caleb Joseph is the designated hitter again today at Bowie and will catch Monday at Single-A Frederick. He could be activated from the disabled list on Wednesday.

Mark Trumbo is making his second start at first base this season, going 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in his debut. Showalter wanted to give Chris Davis “two days off in the field,” including Monday’s off day.

“He hasn’t had many,” Showalter said.

Davis was told of Showalter’s plan between games of the doubleheader. They discussed it again last night and this morning, with Davis given three choices.

“I’m hoping he picks the one that I picked,” Showalter said, smiling.

Kevin Gausman improved to 1-5 yesterday while Tampa Bay’s Matt Andriese fell to 6-1 in Game 1. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it was just the third time in major league history that a starting pitcher who was 0-5 or worse defeated a starter who was 5-0 or better.

On May 10, 1879, Harry McCormick (0-5) of the Syracuse Stars earned the win over Will White (5-0) of the Cincinnati Reds. On July 15, 1954, Rob Buhl (0-7) of the Milwaukee Braves earned the win over Bob Millken (5-0) of the Brooklyn Dodgers in Game 1 of a doubleheader.
