This was Reimold’s third career walk-off homer and his fifth homer of the year. It scored Pedro Alvarez, who struck out to start the ninth against right-hander Cody Allen, but reached when the ball got by the catcher and caromed off the backstop. Allen’s throw to first was interrupted…

This was Reimold’s third career walk-off homer and his fifth homer of the year. It scored Pedro Alvarez, who struck out to start the ninth against right-hander Cody Allen, but reached when the ball got by the catcher and caromed off the backstop. Allen’s throw to first was interrupted when it hit off Alvarez’ head, allowing the runner to reach.

This is the Orioles’ first walk-off homer of the year and first pinch-hit walk-off homer since Chris Davis on June 23, 2014 versus the Chicago White Sox.

Much earlier, the O’s got some outstanding starting pitching.

For the fourth time in five games their starter went seven innings – this time it was Vance Worley – as the Orioles beat Cleveland.

The Orioles improved to 57-40 winning their fourth straight. Cleveland came to Baltimore with the best record in the American League and best road record but leaves with a 56-41 record.

Worley got stronger as the game went on. Pitching in the heat of Camden Yards, he retired the last 11 batters he faced. Over seven innings he allowed five hits and two runs with three walks and three strikeouts, throwing 102 pitches. It was his longest outing since going eight innings on Sept. 21, 2014.

The O’s rotation has produced four outings of seven innings the last five games and allowed just two earned runs in 19 innings in the series. Over the last four games, the O’s rotation has an ERA of 1.04. Over the last 12 games, the ERA is 2.90.

Worley was denied a win when Cleveland scored an unearned run to tie it 3-3 in the eighth. Mike Napoli’s single off Brad Brach tied it and an error on second baseman Jonathan Schoop led to the unearned run.

The game was scoreless until Cleveland scored twice in the fourth to take its first lead of this series. Jose Ramirez led off with a walk and Lonnie Chisenhall singled. They later scored on Tyler Naquin’s RBI double to left and a Roberto Perez sac fly.

The O’s got those runs right back in the bottom of the inning. Schoop doubled to left center and scored on Manny Machado’s single. Later in the frame, with runners on first and third, Alvarez grounded into an apparent 6-4-3 double play to end the inning, but the Orioles challenged the out call at first. A replay review overturned the call, Alvarez was ruled safe and a run scored for the 2-2 tie.

An inning later, the Orioles had a 3-2 lead. Schoop came through again, this time with a solo homer to left-center. He hit 1-0 curveball from Corey Kluber for his 17th home run.

Now the Orioles welcome the Colorado Rockies to Camden Yards with a series starting Monday night. Yovani Gallardo (3-2, 5.69 ERA) faces left-hander Jorge De La Rosa (6-7, 6.07 ERA).
