Kim’s two-run homer last night made him 6-for-9 as a pinch-hitter. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, only three other active players began their careers with at least six hits in their first nine pinch-hit at-bats – Josh Bell, Evan Gattis and Denard Span.
The Orioles are 14-11 this month after going 12-14 in July and 13-16 in August. They’ve never had a losing September under manager Buck Showalter.

The Yankees haven’t listed any of their starters for the weekend series against the Orioles in the Bronx.
The Orioles also are withholding their starters, but Yovani Gallardo is expected to take the mound Friday night and Wade Miley could follow him Saturday afternoon. Dylan Bundy or Kevin Gausman would start Sunday afternoon’s regular season finale.
