Matt Wieters singled with one out in the eighth, putting the potential tying run on base.
I expected Julio Lugo to run for him and try to steal a base. Instead, Wieters stayed in the game, Adam Jones grounded into a 5-4-3 double play and the Royals continued to hold a 4-3 lead.
Any chance the Orioles rally against Joakim Soria in the ninth?
Any chance they beat Zack Greinke tomorrow night?

Jones was so frustrated, he fired his batting helmet down the right field line. I thought it was going to reach the warning track.
Jones took the walk of shame and retrieved it.
Update: Garrett Atkins walked to open the bottom of the ninth, and pinch-runner Julio Lugo took second on Cesar Izturis’ bunt single. Izturis was simply trying to sacrifice Lugo to second, but Soria couldn’t handle the ball. Corey Patterson advanced the runners with a bunt, almost beating the throw to first, and Nick Markakis was walked intentionally to load the bases.
A fly ball would tie the game, but Ty Wigginton struck out on a 1-2 pitch. Miguel Tejada bounced to second, and the Orioles lost another one.
The Orioles had three bunt singles tonight. Anyone know the franchise record for one game?
