Tillman had two “ups,” throwing 15 pitches and sitting down to simulate a start.
“It’s another step for him. He should be just about done now,” said manager Buck Showalter.
Assuming that the shoulder continues to feel good, Tillman will fly to Sarasota and throw live batting practice on Saturday. He’s scheduled to pitch in an extended spring training…

Tillman had two “ups,” throwing 15 pitches and sitting down to simulate a start.

“It’s another step for him. He should be just about done now,” said manager Buck Showalter.

Assuming that the shoulder continues to feel good, Tillman will fly to Sarasota and throw live batting practice on Saturday. He’s scheduled to pitch in an extended spring training game on Tuesday before joining one of the affiliates.

Tillman could come off the disabled list in the first week of May. It won’t be any earlier, according to Showalter.

Miley-Throws-White-Sidebar.jpgLeft-hander Wade Miley will start Sunday against the Yankees after simulating six innings yesterday and throwing around 86-87 pitches at Double-A Bowie. Miley officially is the No. 4 starter in the rotation. Nothing has changed since he went on the disabled list.

“He got his work in,” Showalter said. “He was a little winded toward the end, him and the guy who was pitching with him. The Bowie club got a lot of work in. It was good.”

Reliever Darren O’Day is available tonight. He didn’t pitch on opening day, a game that lasted 11 innings, because of the flu.

“He feels a lot better,” Showalter said. “I called him yesterday to see how he felt. I’m sure he heard about the possible (disabled list), and he said, ‘No, no, no, no, no.’ He said, ‘I’m good, I’m ready to go, I feel a lot better.’

“He feels good. He’s got a good look on his face. He’s going to go out and throw a little bit. I expected him to be available.”
