BOWIE – The Orioles have traded reliever Parker Bridwell to the Angels for a player to be named later or cash, the latest transaction in a busy first few weeks of the season.
Bridwell was designated for assignment on Friday night to make room on the 40-man roster for left-hander Paul Fry, obtained from the Mariners for international signing bonus slot No. 105.
Bridwell, 25, made his major league debut on Aug. 21 against the Astros at Camden Yards. He appeared in two games and allowed five runs and five hits in 3 1/3 innings.

In two appearances with Triple-A Norfolk this month, Bridwell was charged with eight runs and 10 hits and struck out six batters in four innings. He surrendered three home runs.
The Orioles drafted Bridwell in the ninth round in 2010 out of Hereford (Tx.) High School.
The Angels optioned Bridwell to Double-A Mobile. Reliever Huston Street was transferred to the 60-day disabled list.
Pitcher Jason GarcÃa, who was outrighted today after clearing waivers, is expected to rejoin the Baysox on Tuesday.
GarcÃa may go back to piggybacking left-hander Tanner Scott, but that role also could be given to Long.
Single-A Delmarva outfielder Jake Ring, 22, was named South Atlantic League Player of the Week after batting .421/.450/.842 (16-for-38) in nine games, with seven doubles, three triples, a home run, 13 RBIs and seven runs scored.
Chris Tillman is wearing No. 56 tonight for Double-A Bowie. He just warmed up and is on the mound as we get ready for the anthem.
