According to STATS, this is the first time in Orioles history that they’ve had two catchers with multi-home run games in the same week. Francisco Peña homered twice last Saturday in Kansas City.

The closest that the Orioles came to the feat was back in 2005, with Sal Fasano on June 7 and Geronimo Gil on June 21.

The last major league team to do it was the 2011 Rangers, with Yorvit Torrealba and Mike Napoli.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Castillo is the second Orioles player to produce a game-tying home run and game-ending home run in the sixth inning or later of a game. On May 28, 1987, Mike Young hit a game-tying solo homer in the bottom of the 10th inning and a two-run walk-off to cap a 12-inning win over the Angels.

The Orioles own the best home record in the majors at 14-3.

Orioles hitters lead the American League and are tied for first in the majors with a .316 average with runners in scoring position.
