Camden Yards daytime.jpg“By holding its powerful spotlight at the right angle, Oriole Park has gone beyond its role as America’s best ballpark to help big-hearted Baltimore honor its most important heroes, the publication writes in its introduction to the venue on the voting site.

Reader’s Digest apparently took note of how the Orioles honor Birdland Community Heroes during each weekend game. Honorees have included a school bus driver who risked her life to save 20 students after the vehicle caught fire, three men who braved raging flood waters to rescue trapped motorists and a middle schooler who was inspired to grow his hair out to donate to pediatric cancer patients.
