Bergesen has retired 11 batters in a row though the sixth. He needed 19 pitches in the third, but threw just 10 in the 4th, 9 in the 5th and 9 in the 6th.
That’s 28 pitches for Bergy over the last three innings. Of his last 11 outs, eight have come via a grounder. He has thrown 74 pitches through six.
Meanwhile the clouds and lightning are more menacing by the minute.
