The Orioles have peppered Toronto starter Ricky Romero with four singles today. They’ve got him on the ropes.
OK, not quite.
They scored once in the first inning and went silent again. And now they trail, 4-1, on Lyle Overbay’s leadoff homer in the bottom of the sixth.
I’ve seen enough of this guy.
Maybe a lefty specialist would have retired him.

The Orioles are staring at another sweep, and I’m looking at another busy off-day tomorrow.
Update: The Orioles picked up their fifth single in the top of the seventh inning. Still doesn’t qualify as an uprising.
The Orioles didn’t take batting practice yesterday or today, and they won’t tomorrow because there’s no game. The Jays took BP yesterday and did some early hitting before Photo Day today.
Not sure if it would make a difference, but the Orioles’ offense is in such a funk, it might be wise for these guys to take as many swings as possible. And not just against soft-toss or off a tee. The weekend break clearly did no good, judging by the results.
Hit on the field. Hit in the tunnel. Hit on the concourse. Anyplace you can find room.
