Brad Bergesen’s name is listed among the relievers on the magnetic board outside the clubhouse, but one of his teammates might be playing a joke on the media. Another young pitcher pointed it out with a mischievous grin and wondered if we had found today’s story.
Instant update: Bergesen told reporters that he’s being skipped at least once in the rotation because of Monday’s open date on the schedule, and he’s available as the long man tonight. Interim manager Juan Samuel will provide more information in a few minutes.
