FORT MYERS, Fla. – Orioles first baseman Chris Davis expects to be in the lineup this weekend as he recovers from tightness in his right elbow/forearm.

The cortisone injection is bringing the desired result.

Mark Trumbo remains scheduled to serve as designated hitter on Wednesday against the Yankees in Sarasota. He hasn’t played since March 6 against the Twins in Fort Myers due to a sore right quadriceps muscle.

Gabriel Ynoa continues to wear a walking boot after being diagnosed with a stress reaction caused by shin splints, and he’s likely headed to the disabled list. Ynoa is out of minor league options and out of the competition for a rotation or bullpen spot.

Hunter Harvey will start a Triple-A game on Friday and most likely take the mound March 21 against the Yankees in Tampa.

The Orioles signed left-hander Hunter Cervenka to a minor league deal and sent him to Twin Lakes Park.

Cervenka, 28, made five relief appearances with the Marlins last year and allowed eight runs in 4 2/3 innings. He surrendered only one hit, but he walked eight batters, hit two and struck out six. He’s registered a 4.69 ERA and 1.417 WHIP in 73 games, including 50 with the Braves in 2016.

Orioles pitching coach Roger McDowell is familiar with Cervenka from their days in Atlanta.
