Adam Jones is batting .333 (12-for-36) on the road this season. His 181 career hits against the Red Sox rank third among active players behind Robinson Cano (220) and Evan Longoria (184).
Manny Machado has 47 career RBIs against the Red Sox, his highest total versus any opponent.
Trey Mancini is a career .365 (27-for-74) hitter in 20 games against the Red Sox. He’s hit safely in his first eight career games at Fenway Park, the longest opening streak by an Orioles player since Don Baylor (10) in 1972-73.
Gary Kendall will manage his 1,000th career game tonight with Double-A Bowie. He’s been in the Orioles’ organization for 19 years.
“That’s a pretty big deal,” said manager Buck Showalter. “He’s been a rock. Nothing beneath him. Gary’s special. We’re lucky to have him.”
