The Orioles invite families to spend Mother’s Day at Oriole Park at Camden Yards on Sunday, May 13, for the 1:05 p.m. ET game against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Orioles will celebrate Mother’s Day with pink caps for on-field personnel, Mother’s Day-oriented messages from players on the videoboard throughout the game, a guest public address announcer, and an exclusive pashmina scarf giveaway. The Orioles will also honor Dr. John Fetting as the Birdland Community Hero for his work in the fight against breast cancer.

Orioles players, coaches, and uniformed personnel will wear pink Orioles caps, which will be autographed, authenticated, and auctioned online at www.orioles.com/auction to benefit The John Fetting Fund for Breast Cancer Prevention at Johns Hopkins. A pink ribbon patch will also be added to the home white jerseys to raise awareness for Major League Baseball’s annual “Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer” initiative. Players are also invited to utilize pink equipment, including bats, shoes, batting gloves, wristbands, and catcher’s equipment.

The Orioles will honor Dr. John Fetting, an Associate Professor of Oncology at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital, as Sunday’s Birdland Community Hero. Dr. Fetting is an advocate for breast cancer prevention, research, and fundraising, and through his work as a medical oncologist with the John’s Hopkins Breast Cancer Program, Dr. Fetting has been actively involved in clinical trials and patient care. The John Fetting Fund for Breast Cancer Prevention at Johns Hopkins, initiated by patient Leslie Ries, has raised $3.8 million dollars since its inception. Along with proceeds derived from the pink cap auction, the Orioles will donate an additional $2,500 to the fund as part of Dr. Fetting’s recognition as the Birdland Community Hero.

For the fourth consecutive Mother’s Day, the Orioles will welcome Adrienne Roberson, the public address announcer for the Double-A affiliate Bowie Baysox, to serve as a guest PA announcer during Saturday’s doubleheader and Sunday’s Mother’s Day game. Roberson has been the voice of Baysox games since 2005.

As part of the Mother’s Day festivities, the first 20,000 fans ages 18 and over will receive an Orioles pashmina scarf.
