Andrew Cashner has allowed three earned runs in his last two starts totaling 11 2/3 innings. His 4.33 ERA is at its lowest point since April 22.

cashner-gray-in-dc-sidebar.jpgThe Orioles signed Cashner to a two-year deal after he went 11-11 with a 3.40 ERA and 1.320 WHIP in 28 starts last season with the Rangers. He’s faced them once in his career and allowed four runs and eight hits in five innings.

In 14 starts at Globe Life Park, Cashner has registered a 2.72 ERA and 1.355 WHIP in 82 2/3 innings.

Yovani Gallardo is back with the Rangers after making three relief appearances with the Reds and allowing eight runs in 2 1/3 innings. He’s made seven starts with the Rangers, his third organization this year, and gone 5-1 with a 4.81 ERA and 1.347 WHIP in 39 1/3 innings.

Gallardo spent the 2016 season with the Orioles and went 6-8 with a 5.42 ERA and 1.585 WHIP in 23 starts. They traded him to the Mariners on Jan. 6, 2017 for outfielder Seth Smith.

In three career starts against the Orioles, Gallardo has allowed 11 runs and 15 hits with nine walks over 16 2/3 innings. He shut them out on two hits over six innings on July 2, 2015, but surrendered eight runs and nine hits in four innings last year while pitching for the Mariners.

Mark Trumbo is 6-for-11 lifetime against Gallardo.

Trumbo needs four hits for 1,000 in his career.

Reliever Cody Carroll was the 10th Orioles player to make his major league debut this season, the most since 2012 when 12 players did it. The 10 debuts are tied for the fourth-most in a season in club history, with the record being 14 in 1955, according to STATS.

This is the first time in Orioles history that they’ve had four games with 15 or more hits in a five-game span, according to STATS. The last time it happened in the majors was the Diamondbacks on Aug 9-14, 2015.
