The Orioles have rallied from deficits of 3-0, 6-0 and 5-0 to win three straight games heading into today.
They were down, 3-0, going into the bottom of the fifth, which must have made the Nationals uncomfortable.
What transpired didn’t improve their collective mood.
Back-to-back doubles by Luke Scott and Adam Jones produced the Orioles’ first run off Nats right-hander Luis Atilano, whose six wins tie him for second among National League rookies.

Back-to-back doubles by Luke Scott and Adam Jones produced the Orioles’ first run off Nats right-hander Luis Atilano, whose six wins tie him for second among National League rookies.
So this is the phenom everybody has been talking about?
Matt Wieters and Scott Moore singled, with Jones scoring to reduce the lead to 3-2, and second baseman Adam Kennedy’s throwing error has tied the game.
The Orioles are living on the edge, but they seem to like the view.
Moore’s improvement at the plate was one reason the Orioles felt comfortable designating Garrett Atkins for assignment today.
Down on the farm, Nolan Reimold is starting again at first base for Triple-A Norfolk, which leads Louisville, 8-1, in the sixth. Reimold is 0-for-2 with a walk and run scored.
Catcher Michel Hernandez hit a grand slam as part of a 3-for-3 afternoon. Jeff Salazar is 3-for-4 with a double and his 13th home run.
Tim Bascom has scattered 11 hits over six innings.
