Felix Pie took batting practice and shagged fly balls at Double-A Bowie before retreating indoors because of the rain. He’ll officially join the Baysox for tonight’s game against Erie.
Pie’s injury rehab assignment began with the Gulf Coast League team and continued at Single-A Frederick. He’s 6-for-20 with two RBIs, two walks and four runs scored.
Once he’s done with the Baysox, he could be activated from the disabled list this weekend.

Pie played left field on Sunday and will continue to receive starts in the outfield until returning to the Orioles, where he’s hitting .400 in eight games.
Also, left-hander Zach Britton has been promoted to Triple-A Norfolk after going 7-3 with a 2.48 ERA with Bowie. He was just named the Eastern League’s Player of the Week.
Nice parting gift.
I assumed that he would remain with the Baysox until the Futures Game, but I’m told that he’ll join the Tides in Charlotte.
