The Orioles completed their pending roster move today by adding right-hander Aaron Brooks to the 25-man roster.
Brooks will wear No. 38 and he’s set to become the 47th player used by the Orioles this season.
Reliever Josh Lucas was designated for assignment Saturday to make room for Brooks on the 40-man roster. Lucas cleared waivers and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Norfolk, news also announced today by the Orioles.
So much for a break.

The Orioles completed their pending roster move today by adding right-hander Aaron Brooks to the 25-man roster.

Reliever Josh Lucas was designated for assignment Saturday to make room for Brooks on the 40-man roster. Lucas cleared waivers and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Norfolk, news also announced today by the Orioles.
So much for a break.
Brooks was a waiver claim Saturday from the Athletics after he went 2-3 with a 5.01 ERA and 1.252 WHIP in 15 games, including six starts. He’s likely to go into the bullpen, at least until stretched out to become a starter option.
The Athletics kept Brooks, 29, in their rotation through April before moving him to the bullpen. He posted a 3.79 ERA and 1.105 WHIP in nine relief appearances.
Lucas gave up 10 earned runs and 12 total in 15 2/3 innings with the Orioles. He walked seven batters and struck out 16.
The Orioles also announced today that they chose Double-A Bowie infielder Mason McCoy as their Minor League Player of the Month for June and left-hander Alex Wells as their Pitcher of the Month.
McCoy slashed .313/.379/.384 with six doubles and a triple in 27 games. Wells was 3-0 with a 2.25 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in five starts.
Outfielder Austin Hays tweeted that he’s completed his injury rehab assignment and is rejoining Norfolk on Thursday.
Hays was on the injured list with a strained hamstring.
