It looks like it’s one lefty replacing another at Double-A Bowie.
With Zach Britton moving up to Triple-A Norfolk, lefty Rick Zagone will move up and join the Baysox from Frederick to make Wednesday night’s start for Bowie.
Zagone is 5-6, 3.20 on the year with Frederick in 15 starts. He has pitched 78 2/3 innings, allowing 79 hits, including seven homers. He has walked 22 with 54 strikeouts and Carolina League hitters were batting .261 vs. him.

Zagone, a sixth-round draft pick in 2008 out of Missouri, is 4-1, 2.05 over his last six starts and has allowed 2 ER or less in six straight and eight of his past nine starts.
He began that six-start stretch with a rare, minor league nine-inning complete game when he pitched a five-hitter on May 26 vs. Wilmington.
Meanwhile, Josh Bell has two homers and 6 RBI tonight for Norfolk at Charlotte. It’s his second two-homer game of the year and other was on April 26, also vs. Charlotte. Those homers are numbers nine and ten on the year for Bell.
