Adam Jones gave him a 2-0 lead with a home run onto the flag court in right. That’s No. 13 for Jones, who’s pushing for an All-Star berth.

Jones has hit safely in 18 of his last 22 games, with seven homers, 18 RBIs and 15 runs scored.

Coco Crisp almost runs through the fence in center field to make a sensational catch, knocking himself loopy in the process, and Corey Patterson is awarded first base on catcher’s interference.

If I’m Crisp, I’m interfering with Kurt Suzuki’s ability to breathe through his nose.

Felix Pie grounded to short in his first at-bat tonight with Double-A Bowie. As expected, he’s starting in left field.

I had to send Baseball America my choice for the Orioles’ top minor league player in the first half. I chose left-hander Zach Britton, but that’s obviously open to debate.

As for “biggest disappointment,” I selected Brandon Erbe because he’s 0-10 with a 5.73 ERA at Triple-A Norfolk. However, serious consideration was given to Brandon Waring and Brandon Snyder.

Again, open to debate.

I should point out that the candidates are supposed to be prospects. I’m not sure how to classify Joel Guzman, who has 17 home runs and 53 RBIs at Bowie. He’s a one-time prospect in the Dodgers’ system. He also appears to be playing one level lower than where he belongs.

Can’t dispute that he’s putting up impressive numbers and could end up at Camden Yards later this summer.
