BOSTON – Trey Mancini is playing first base tonight as the Orioles try to win for only the second time in their last 12 games.
According to STATS, Mancini’s streak of seven straight games with an extra-base hit at Fenway Park is the most by an Orioles player in club history and tied for fifth-longest by a visiting player. The Twins’ Harmon Killebrew (May 24, 1962-May 20, 1963) and the Yankees’ Carlos Beltrán (April 22, 2014-Aug. 31, 2015) share the record with nine.

The Twins’ Harmon Killebrew (May 24, 1962-May 20, 1963) and the Yankees’ Carlos Beltrán (April 22, 2014-Aug. 31, 2015) share the record with nine.
The Orioles’ record for most consecutive road games with at least one extra-base hit against a single opponent is eight by Brady Anderson in Kansas City (April 24, 1996-April 9, 1997) and Rafael Palmeiro in Oakland (May 14, 1996-May 13, 1997) and Texas (July 21, 1997-July 16, 1998).
Mancini has hit safely in 10 consecutive games at Fenway Park since May 19, 2018, batting .325 (13-for-40) during the stretch. He’s a career 365/.417/.624 (31-for-85) hitter with nine doubles, two triples, three home runs, 16 RBIs and 16 runs scored in 22 games in Boston, and has hit safely in 20 of them. His career 1.040 OPS at Fenway Park ranks third among active players with a minimum of 75 at-bats.
In 14 games this season against the Red Sox, Mancini is batting .375/.453/.750 (21-for-56) with nine doubles, four home runs, eight RBIs and 13 runs. His 13 extra-base hits are the most by an opponent against the Red Sox this season.
DJ Stewart is in left field tonight and Anthony Santander is in right. Hanser Alberto is leading off and playing third base.
Hunter Harvey could become the eighth Oriole to make his major league debut this season. To correct an earlier note, he’d be the 54th player and 37th pitcher this season.
