Following the O’s 1970 World Series 40th Anniversary game, all members of the Orioles and Nationals autographed the jerseys and hats they wore during that game, with Orioles players also signing their game-used batting helmets as well.
Those items were then put up for auction on Orioles.com for O’s and Nats fans to bid on and take home – but the auction ends soon, at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 5.

Those items were then put up for auction on Orioles.com for O’s and Nats fans to bid on and take home – but the auction ends soon, at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 5.
Also look for jerseys worn by the members of the 1970 World Series championship team who participated in the anniversary celebration on Saturday, June 26.
Just in case you didn’t catch the celebration or read about the event, it’s worth noting that Jim Palmer, Brooks Robinson, Boog Powell, Frank Robinson, and Earl Weaver were all in attendance.
I’m just saying.
Starting bids for hats are $50, batting helmets are $100, and jerseys start at $150.
Don’t forget the uniforms were throwbacks that night, so these are really some one-of-a-kind items.
In case you’re interested, the highest bid for any one item is actually for Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg’s autographed 1970 Washington Senators throwback jersey – at $1,687.00 (as of Friday afternoon).
After Strasburg’s jersey, Jim Palmer’s signed jersey takes second place with a current bid of $625.00, with Brooks Robinson’s jersey bringing up third at an even $500.00.
If you’re headed to Orioles.com to place your bid, good luck and have fun! Also feel good knowing that your dollars will be going for a good cause, as proceeds from the auction will benefit the Orioles Charitable Foundation.
